Magic Isn’t Real

We have a new full-length done, and I’m gonna guess that if you like this band, you might already be aware of it. I know, I know, we went from being extra-ambigious to full-blown aggressive with our presentation of this record to you, our loyal fans, but theory and rumor shall preside no longer! Pile is here to give you the facts just the way you like them: cold, hard, and electronic.

So. The record. It’s called Magic Isn’t Real. Matt Becker named it because he’s better at naming records than you are. It has ten songs on it because that seemed about the right amount of songs. It’s roughly a half hour long because that’s how long all those songs take to complete played one after the other. Richard Marr recorded it at Galaxy Park, and rather nicely too, if you ask us. Lindsey Boss did the artwork in a similarly excellent fashion, then Rick manipulated it because he has the clearest long-hand in the band. In short: We like it. We think you might like it too.

You can find it in a half dozen Mediafire posts all over the internet. You can stream it on its album page on Last.fm. You can download it for whatever price you choose at our Bandcamp site. You can buy a copy of the physical disc itself at the record release show this Saturday in Allston MA (check the post below this one for info on that, y’know, the post with the CDs in it), or you can pick it up at any of the three weeks’ worth of dates we’ll be playing between the Atlantic Ocean and the Mississippi River in the coming weeks, culminating with a show at Gay Gardens on Oct 30 that will coincidentally be Margin Walker’s LP release show. And once we get home, maybe possibly at some point we’ll consider thinking about some version of effective e-commerce.

We leave for tour in a little over a week and we’re excited and anxious and nervous and stoked. Anybody we won’t be seeing in the United States this fall, prep your couches for us in the spring.
